Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation Project Update





Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes advises that site investigations and early works for the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation Project are now complete and the major construction phase of the project will now commence.

Contractors RMS Engineering and Construction will now be commencing the following works:

Works:                David Street - Stormwater Outlet Construction

Dates:                  Monday 22 July to Friday 23 August [subject to delays]

Work times:      7am to 5pm


Description:      Site preparations are due to take place Monday 15 July to Monday 22 July, including Traffic control implementation, sediment and erosion controls, site survey and set out as well as tree clearing and vegetation management.



From Monday 29 July to Friday 16 August, work will be carried out on the stormwater outlet structure. The project will include demolition of the existing outlet, excavating the site, and placing interlocking, water-dissipating rocks in front of the new outlet. Following this, sand stabilisation will be implemented, and a new stormwater outlet structure will be constructed.

Cassowary Coast Council opens Community Grants Monday 15th July

 Cassowary Coast Regional Council will launch its 2024/25 community grants program Monday 15 July with $40,000 on offer for community projects and initiatives in the first of three rounds for the financial year.

The Community Grants and Support Program aims to make a significant impact for local community groups and individuals by offering grants of up to $5,000 per project.

Information sessions will be conducted by Council’s Community Services team, starting this Thursday.

These sessions aim to assist community groups and individuals seeking advice on applying for community grants or determining the eligibility of their projects or initiatives for funding. See above.
