Snap Send Solve:

A smarter way to report issues

The 4852 Report was once MBCA’s major annual initiative, with volunteers travelling across the region to identify and report issues affecting our community. While this project delivered great results from council, it only happened once a year.

Now, MBCA is embracing a more immediate and effective way for locals to get involved — by encouraging everyone to use the Snap Send Solve app. Through handy business-sized cards and community outreach, we’re helping residents understand just how simple and powerful this reporting tool is.

Whether it’s damaged roads, broken signs, overgrown verges, blocked beach access, bin issues or council facilities, you can report concerns directly through the app in just a few taps. Best of all, you’ll always receive a response about how your issue is being addressed.

By promoting this practical tool, MBCA is continuing its commitment to support a cleaner, safer, and more liveable Mission Beach — not just once a year, but every day.

Christmas Magic at the heart of Mission Beach

For over 20 years, the Mission Beach Children’s Christmas Party has been one of the most loved and anticipated events on the local calendar — a true celebration of community spirit, festive fun, and holiday magic.

What started as a small community gathering has grown into a much-cherished tradition that continues to bring joy to children and families right across Mission Beach and surrounding areas. This fabulous event just gets bigger, brighter, and more magical — a reflection of the wonderful community that makes it all possible.

MBCA is incredibly proud to help fund and support this special event, working alongside many local businesses, community associations, and volunteers whose generosity and spirit of giving play such a big part in its success. It’s a real community effort — and a wonderful example of what makes Mission Beach so special.

Children love the excitement of Santa’s visit, arriving with plenty of festive cheer, gifts, and photo opportunities. There are Christmas carols to sing, elves spreading joy, delicious treats for the kids, and a fun-filled atmosphere that brings smiles to everyone.

MBCA looks forward to continuing this special tradition for many more years to come — because nothing beats seeing the magic of Christmas come alive right here in our own backyard.

Giving back A lasting tribute to Michael Johnson

MBCA is proud to honour those who have dedicated their time and energy to making Mission Beach a better place. One such individual was Michael Johnson, a well-respected businessman and community leader who lived here for over 30 years.

In 2023, we secured Federal Government approval to install a Memorial Bench on the beach in Michael’s memory. A passionate volunteer and valued local, Michael’s impact is still felt today by those who knew him, including his family in Wongaling Beach.

This special bench now provides a peaceful place for reflection, remembrance, and connection. It stands as both a tribute to Michael’s legacy and a welcoming space for the entire Mission Beach community to enjoy.
