“The lady at the charity shop today told me that she wishes people would clear out their children’s old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after. She always sees a number of parents in the days before Christmas that might be strapped for cash. looking for toys for their little ones.  There’s rarely anything in just before but they get inundated with toys days after.

It really made me think about it in a way I never would have done before. If you know your child is going to get lots of presents from Father Christmas this year then, by clearing out your cupboards a few days early you could make another child’s Christmas a lot more special.”

At MBCA we thought that we would share this with our members. This makes an awful lot of sense and could make some less fortunate children very happy this Christmas.

What a night! Over 50 engaged residents gathered on Tuesday to meet local candidates and hear them answer a variety of interesting and thought-provoking questions. The evening brought out some diverse and even controversial topics, making for a truly informative session. 🎤

We’re thrilled to welcome our new MBCA members and want to thank everyone for their participation! And congratulations to the very happy local lady resident who won the $50 Mission Beach Resort door prize voucher!

A BIG 'thank you"you to everyone that sent in questions to be put to our four local candidates on the 1^st of October. We have a very wide selection of questions covering everything from the  Wind farms, the Cassowary Bridge, schools funding, the Great Barrier Reef and more. This will be a very dynamic meeting that you will not want to miss out on.

Get ready to listen to the candidates as they respond to questions submitted by email and live from the floor.
