"School Savvy" helps 300 families !!!

School Savvyn

School Savvy eases Back-to-School stress for 300 families.

The School Savvy Event, organised by Kumiko Millward and the Centacare Team, once again brought around 300 families together to support families preparing for the new school year.

The event aimed to ease financial and emotional stress, offering affordable school supplies and uniforms thanks to generous donations from the Cassowary Coast community, Cassowary Coast Schools and Community Groups.

Kumiko Millward expressed gratitude to the volunteers and stakeholders who helped with crowd control and currently running programs in community for parents and students.

Discussions are underway to expand future events to include food hampers, addressing a need observed this year.

Councillor Trudy, provided over 16 free haircuts for children, helping them head back to school with confidence. Great work.

Step Into the Mystery of Ancient Egypt with “An Egyptian Whodunnit!”

This December, The Rainforest School invites you to an unforgettable school production—“An Egyptian Whodunnit!” Their talented students are ready to dazzle you with a performance packed with mystery, comedy, and dance as we step back to the days of King Tutankhamen. When his tomb is discovered in 1922, questions arise: how did he die? Could it be a curse, foul play, or something more surprising?

Join them in ancient Egypt to meet a lineup of suspicious (and hilarious!) characters and try to solve this ancient mystery with them! Mark your calendars:

  • Thursday, Dec 5th, 1:00 PM
  • Friday, Dec 6th, 11:00 AM

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for children (3-15 years).
