Yoga Workshop - the Diaphragm
The Diaphragm is the main muscle used in breathing. It has tremendous bearing on our mental state and on our nervous system. It relates to the solar plexus and in yoga, Manipura Chakra.
If the diaphragm loses its freedom, as in times of stress or sorrow, it hardens, shortens and has no room. Breathing becomes heavy. It stretches in times of happiness.
The workshop will look at how to soften the diaphragm by giving it space in standing poses, twists, backward bending poses and inversions. Pranayama will end the session.
Saturday 6th April at The Progress Hall. Mission Beach.
